Several years ago my parents found the mummified corpse of a small bird in their backyard. Being my parents they knew that I would want to photograph it, and they quickly boxed it up and mailed it to me.

Since then I've been photographing other skeletons. And with them various bones, shells, twigs and whatever else I come across.

My goal is to show the eerie beauty death leaves behind. The process of decay can reveal intricate structures that are concealed in life. Sometimes the images are inherently creepy, but I'm really not interested in grossing people out. Instead I try to show the fragility of all living things, and illuminate its beauty.
