I first picked up a camera when I was 19. Over three decades later, I still haven't put it down. Growing up in a small town in Iowa, I always dreamed about seeing 'the world.' Photography has been my way into that world. It has taken me across the world and into people's lives, from grandeur to intimacy.
When asked what I enjoy most about it, two things invariably arise. First I am endlessly fascinated by people. All kinds. Second, I like solving problems. Turning a 'what' or a 'why' into 'how' keeps photography fresh and exciting for me.
I have photographed riots and baptisms, joy and despair, affluence and poverty. Clients have included Oregon State University, Archery Summit Winery, and have work in the permanent collections of the George Eastman House and the Hallie Ford Museum of Art.
